Western Wisdom

Four pieces of wisdom a cowboy friend sent me by email.*

  1. Never steal another man’s horse. (or as Scott always says, “Ethics are easy when there is plenty; the measure of a person is how they act when times are tough.”)
  2. Words that soak in are whispered…not yelled.
  3. It doesn’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.
  4. When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.
Or as my grandpa Banka used to say, “Honey, never sniff the south end of a skunk goin’ north.”

* I don’t know where the quotes originated from. If someone else does, please let me know and I’ll attribute them.
